Getting a little sick of piano teaching

You might have noticed that I didn’t send out any emails last week. This is because I’m having some doubts as to whether I am truly capable of helping pianists with piano problems.

I might want to focus more on talking about meditation. Not sure yet, still trying to figure it out.

In the meantime, here is the most powerful piece of piano practice technology I have invented. It’s called the Waterfall Technique, and it will fix any technical problem that you might have at the piano (you can also easily adjust it to fit any instrument):

  1. Choose a piece, and decide how many beats there are per measure.
  2. Set your metronome to the maximum tempo.
  3. Play the piece by dropping your arms on the keyboard, once per beat.
  4. Ask yourself, “is this how I want this piece to sound at this tempo?” If the answer is yes, go back to step 2. If the answer is no, decrease the metronome by 1 click and go back to step 3.

Most of you will not even try this. Some of you will even argue with me despite not having tried it. Some of you will try it simply to prove a point.

I’m not interested in convincing you, or in arguing with you. I’m only interested in helping you.

Don’t say didn’t try!
