  • How do you spell the internet?

I hate the internet. The Internet.

Do you capitalize that word? How about “webpage”, “web page”, “Web page”, “Web Page”? I have my preferences.

What I hate today is how my Internet connection isn't working right. It's a big hassle to fix this, and that's a long story.

Do we know who won the election yet?

I did a poll on Instagram and learned that Trump would beat Biden in a wrestling match. Not sure what that implies about the Presidential election, though. But at least I know who I'd want on my side in an actual fight.

I'm too upset to write a helpful email right now. So, this will have to do.

I hope you find it useful.

    Pay attention.

I hope you find it useful.

See how easy it is to write emails?

(No, you don't see. You'd rather just get annoyed at me for spamming you with random thoughts. Good luck, loser.)

  • Does anger mean you’re meditating wrong?

Meditation is about equanimity. Noticing things without reacting to them.

Does that mean it's morally wrong to be reactive? Should you try hard not to get angry with people? Is it a sign of progress in meditation when you are less angry?

    No, no, no.

Some people will tell you those are true. If you're looking to get rid of your anger and become totally imperturbable, you should go listen to what they have to say. (I guess you should, anyway. Personally, I doubt it will work. But, please try it and let me know what you discover.)

The type of equanimity I'm interested in is the one where you're OK with whatever happens. That means being OK with being reactive. Being OK with being angry. Being OK with making little progress in meditation.

That's how I practice: whatever comes up, I notice it and let it come and go on its own.

Often, that's confusing, especially when I'm REALLY HAPPY to see something bad go away.

Unfortunately, the things that disappear always come back.

If you're not meditating, you should start doing it. (You might find No Problem useful)

  • Ignore your piano teacher. You’re now the teacher.

I've got a new podcast episode: “Meditation for Musicians”.

Meditation will teach you everything you need to know about how to play a musical instrument. Music teachers won't.

    Give it a try.

Your mind is more powerful than you think it is. It wants you to believe it's not, but secretively it tries to control everything. That's how minds are. They're obnoxious.

Luckily, you don't have to worry about any of that, because you can simply meditate and let your mind figure it all out.

Teachers hate their students, because they were abused when they were students. It's a cycle.

    You can break free.

Your own personal experience can be your best teacher. All you have to do is sit and watch what happens. The mind will put the pieces together automatically.

    Isn't that amazing?

You have to try it. Don't just listen to what I have to say about it and agree or disagree. That's a waste of everyone's time.

    Listen to the podcast.

    Episode 8: Meditation for Musicians

Meditation is the only way to fix your music technique. Too bad music teachers don’t care and only want to screw you over. Oh, and I found some great new freedom while recording this episode. Hope you enjoy. Don’t tell your teacher!

    KormanYoga: Just do whatever.

If you want to practice yoga, but you don’t want to be a slave to a domineering control freak of a teacher, you might be interested in this.

Or, maybe you just want a physical practice to complement your sitting meditation or artistic work.

Either way, here’s a video demonstrating KormanYoga.

At the moment, there’s nothing for you to buy.

For now, just know that there’s someone else out there who sees yoga the way you do: a way to integrate the mind and the body. Nothing else.

(In tree pose, let yourself fall.)
