Piano Video Critique
Send me a video of your piano playing and I’ll tell you how to make it better.
$100 USD
Critique what exactly? What is this?
You send me a YouTube link to your video. Then, I’ll watch it and give you my best feedback. I won’t hold anything back.
This is for pianists who want to do one of the following:
Feedback makes no sense unless there’s a goal. So, I’ll be thinking about your goal as I write my feedback. If all you want to do is “play better,” I can’t help you because that’s not a real goal.
This is for pianists of all levels and all styles of music. If you’re a beginner, don’t let that scare you off. It’s good to get feedback as soon as you start playing.
The video you send doesn’t need to be perfect. This isn’t about impressing me. It’s about taking a critical look at your playing.
What I’ll send back your way
I’ll critique your playing and tell you how it hits me as a musician. I’ll word-dump everything I have that has a chance of helping you. I won’t overwhelm you with details. I won’t compliment or insult you unless it will help you play better.
I’ll give you the answers to questions such as:
- Does the music flow?
- How can it flow better?
- Will people enjoy listening to this?
- How can it be more enjoyable to listen to?
- What’s the next step to make this even better?
“We all need people who will give us feedback. That's how we improve.” —Bill Gates

Step 4.
Pay and wait
After you pay, I’ll watch your video, write up my feedback and send it to you within 48 hours.

A few arbitrary rules
Video only. No audio recordings. You can send me any song you’d like. I need to see your hands. Don’t make me strain my ears to hear the piano. Keep the video less than 5 minutes in length. If it’s longer than 5 minutes, tell me which 5 minutes you want me to critique.
This is a one-shot deal: I'll send you one critique and that’s it. If you want more, you’re welcome to submit another application.
