Self-Teaching Plan

Want to teach yourself a song (popular or classical, both hands, on the piano/keyboard)? I’ll send you a plan of attack.

$200 USD

What I’ll do (and what you’ll do)

You tell me what song you want to learn and why. You can choose from one of the following options:

  • To perform live (e.g., for friends/family, live online, in a talent show)
  • To record for a public audience (e.g., YouTube, Instagram, SoundCloud)

I’ll give you a 2-week plan that will detail exactly what to do. It will include text and video. I’ll break the song into sections and tell you how to learn each one. One hand at a time and both hands together. How to put the sections together. How to learn it so that you won’t forget while you’re playing.

A plan alone can’t guarantee success, but I’ll give you your best fighting chance.

Why I’m offering this unconventional service

Most piano teachers would scoff at this. They’d insist you can’t learn anything on your own, that you must take lessons. That’s bullshit. Not everyone can afford regular lessons and not everyone works best that way. I’ve taught myself all sorts of skills, and I want to provide resources to others who want to do that too.

Let's make sure you’re not wasting your time

This is not for advanced pianists. It’s not for you if you want to play “just for fun” or “for yourself.” I’m assuming you want to work hard to learn a song for a specific purpose (playing live or recording).

It’s not for you if you’re looking for regular lessons where you meet with a teacher on a frequent basis. This is a one-time thing: I’ll send you the lesson plan and you teach yourself.

How to Sign Up

To get started, click the “Sign Up” button and fill out the application form. I’ll send you a PayPal link. After you pay, I’ll send you the plan within 7 days. I’ll contact you by email or DM if I have questions.

If a whole plan is too much for you...

...you might be interested in a Piano Video Critique instead. I'll watch your playing and tell you what you need to do next.
